Discuss This Structure With a Principal

For illustrative planning purposes only. Results are estimates and do not constitute an offer, commitment, settlement, or guarantee of any modification or restructuring terms. Actual results depend on financial analysis, lender participation, negotiations, and other circumstances.

Calculation assumptions

Monthly equivalent = current payment × payments per year ÷ 12. Weekly: 52; every two weeks: 26; weekday daily: 260; calendar daily: 365. Holidays and individual schedules can differ.

Selected payment = monthly cash flow × selected percentage. Remaining balance = debt balance − selected payment × term, with a minimum of zero. Principal-only monthly requirement = debt balance ÷ term. These calculations assume no interest, fees, new charges or reduction in debt. A selected percentage does not establish affordability or lender acceptance. A final payment may be smaller.

[05] — Commercial Obligations We Evaluate

Commercial Obligations We Evaluate

Primary Focus & Case-by-Case

Slate Capital Management primarily advises businesses facing merchant cash advance and other commercial debt obligations. Eligibility depends on the type of obligation, lender, underlying agreement, financial condition of the business, and whether the obligation is accepted into the engagement as Verified Debt.

Primary Focus

Merchant Cash Advances

Daily or weekly ACH deductions tied to card sales or revenue. MCAs often carry high effective rates and are among the most common obligations we evaluate and work to restructure.

Revenue-Based Financing

Repayment tied to a percentage of revenue. We review the agreement and evaluate how the structure affects cash flow and available restructuring options.

Commercial Working Capital Obligations

Short-term working capital loans and advances. We analyze the obligation and its impact on the company's operating cash flow.

Business Lines of Credit

Revolving credit facilities drawn against the business. We review advance rates, sweep provisions, and covenant terms with the lender.

Commercial Term Debt

Bank and non-bank term loans to the business. We review amortization, covenants, and maturity to evaluate restructuring options.

Evaluated Case-by-Case

Factoring / Receivables Financing

Outstanding factor advances or receivables financing. Evaluated case by case based on the agreement and the business's financial condition.

Equipment Financing

Term loans and leases secured by equipment. Evaluated case by case to determine whether the obligation can be included in the engagement.

Other Commercial Obligations

Additional commercial obligations not listed above. Eligibility depends on the lender, the agreement, and whether the obligation is accepted as Verified Debt.

[08] — Advisory Restructuring vs. Debt Settlement

A different advisory model.

Know the Difference

Slate Capital Management provides a business-to-business commercial advisory model — financial and cash-flow analysis, lender document review, restructuring strategy, and creditor negotiations. Traditional debt settlement is a different service model that may involve different payment and creditor strategies and may be subject to different laws and regulatory requirements. This section is intended to help business owners understand the difference.
